Orthopedic device firm Stryker and 3D printing firm 3D Systems have inked an exclusive distribution agreement for virtual surgical planning (VSP) and anatomical models for craniomaxillofacial applications.
3D Systems' VSP technology is cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for personalized surgery through medical imaging, surgical simulation, and 3D printing. Stryker's craniomaxillofacial business specializes in providing patient-specific technology for surgical suites.
Together, the companies plan to develop a digital strategy for the operating room through 3D-printed, patient-specific models, guides, and templates.
