Contrast injector developer Acist Medical Systems is partnering with medical imaging software developer Medis Medical Imaging Systems on cardiac health.
The two will comarket Quantitative Flow Ratio (QFR), a noninvasive angiography-based physiologic assessment of the presence and extent of coronary artery disease. Medis developed QFR, which uses images to functionally assess coronary obstructions from standard coronary angiograms. QFR applies mathematical modeling to measure the physiologic and anatomical extent of a patient's coronary artery disease while also improving patient procedure times without a pressure wire or adenosine.
The partnership with Acist allows QFR to be introduced to the U.S. market, the firms said. Acist is a subsidiary of contrast developer Bracco Imaging.
