Edda Technology has entered into an agreement with the Society of Interventional Oncology (SIO) to provide its software as part of a clinical trial on the use of microwave ablation for treating liver metastases.
Edda will provide its software as part of the SIO's Ablation with Confirmation of Colorectal Liver Metastases Prospective (ACCLAIM) trial for microwave ablation as a local cure for liver metastases.
The company's Iqqa-BodyImaging Interventional application will be used in the trial to assess the ablation zone and margin for selected colorectal liver metastases via 3D imaging using MR and CT.
The trial aims to establish microwave ablation as the preferred treatment option for selected colorectal liver metastases that can be ablated with sufficient margins.
