GE Healthcare has signed a new worldwide sales and marketing agreement with InSightec Image Guided Treatment for the Tirat Carmel, Israel-based vendor's ExAblate 2000 MRI-guided focused ultrasound treatment system.
GE will hold exclusive worldwide distribution rights for the uterine fibroid treatment unit, except for Japan and Russia. InSightec has existing distributors and representatives in those countries.
Under the five-year agreement, InSightec and GE of Chalfont St. Giles, U.K., will also collaborate on research and development and marketing.
