GE Healthcare has received Food and Drug Administration clearance for OEC Altitude, a new fluoroscopic imaging system.
Designed to meet the workflow requirements of the operating room, Altitude is a fixed-room ceiling-suspended system that features a high-power generator, cooling systems, and multiple imaging modes, according to the Chalfont St. Giles, U.K.-based vendor.
GE has also included Motion Tolerant Subtraction (MTS), an imaging application that enables surgeons to capture images without the need for a mask run, according to the firm. Altitude employs a million-pixel CCD camera to capture images at a maximum of 3 frames/sec, and provides for "even" focusing on the peripheral areas of the body, GE said.
