Siemens Medical Solutions and Chongqing Haifu Technology of Chongqing, China, have partnered to develop an MRI-guided high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) therapy system.
The main application of the hybrid system will for women's health treatments, including benign uterine fibroids and cancer, as well as malignant and benign tumors of the liver, kidney, pancreas, and bone, according to Siemens of Malvern, PA. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
