Israeli surgical products developer Mazor Surgical Technologies has introduced its SpineAssist robotic spinal surgery device at four U.S. hospitals, the company reported.
The Hospital of Special Surgery in New York City; the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio; the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA; and USMD Hospital in Arlington, TX, are using the device for minimally invasive insertion of implants in a patient's lumbar spine.
The SpineAssist technology uses a CT scan as the basis for a digital surgical plan that provides a map for the procedure, the company said.
