FDA OKs Navistar catheter

Image-guided interventional surgery firm Stereotaxis of St. Louis has received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market its Navistar RMT Thermocool catheter.

The device, manufactured by Biosense Webster of Diamond Bar, CA, is used with Stereotaxis' Niobe remote magnetic navigation system for mapping and radiofrequency ablation to treat irregular heartbeats.

Stereotaxis expects to begin shipments of the catheter within the next few weeks.
