Stereotaxis reports healthy Q1

Image-guided interventional surgery firm Stereotaxis of St. Louis posted healthy revenue for its 2009 fiscal first quarter (end-March 31).

For the period, the firm posted revenue of $11.1 million, an increase of 58% over the $7 million reported for the same period in 2008. The company recognized revenue on sales of five Niobe magnetic navigation systems and five Odyssey systems totaling $6.9 million, while revenue from disposables, services, and accessories was $4.3 million, a 61% increase versus the same period in 2008.

The company also reported a net loss of $7.5 million for the quarter, a 44% decrease compared to a loss of $13.5 million for the first quarter of fiscal 2008.
