GE Healthcare of Chalfont St. Giles, U.K., unveiled several new collaborations at the recent 2009 Heart Rhythm Society (HRS) meeting in Boston.
GE and Hansen Medical of Mountain View, CA, will integrate their products for the treatment of arrhythmias, including the integration of Hansen's Sensei robotic catheter system with GE's Innova EP angiography system.
In another partnership, GE is collaborating with Steris of Mentor, OH, to provide LED lighting, a jointly designed electrophysiology (EP) cockpit, and cable management products to help design the physical layout of a hospital's EP lab.
GE also is teaming with Imricor Medical Systems of Burnsville, MN, on the development of MR-guided ablation catheters and associated systems, based on patents licensed from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Though the agreement, GE and Imricor intend to develop a radiation-free cardiac EP system.
