GE Healthcare has launched a package of interventional imaging technologies, called Hybrid OR, that enable interventionalists to perform both image-guided and open surgical procedures in the same room.
Hybrid OR combines systems such as GE's OEC 9900 MD Elite surgical C-arm with NuBoom, an articular monitor docking system from CompView Medical and the Stille ImagiQ carbon table. Hybrid OR users can also install GE's Innova fixed-based angiography system.
Hybrid OR gives users the flexibility of conducting either image-guided interventional radiology procedures or open surgeries in the same room at different times. It also enables interventionalists to easily convert an interventional radiology procedure into an open surgical one should a patient experience complications, or performed planned surgeries that involve both image-guided and open surgical methods.
