Image-guided interventional surgery firm Stereotaxis has received clearance for its Niobe magnetic navigation system from Japan's Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency.
The company will now begin marketing efforts in Japan for Niobe, a remote magnetic technology for cardiac ablations. In addition to establishing a local business infrastructure with in-country distributors, Stereotaxis said it's working on obtaining reimbursement approval for full market entry.
Reimbursement approval for Niobe is expected by the end of 2013, according to the vendor.
