Increased deliveries of its Visius surgical theaters and higher service contract revenues propelled image-guided therapy developer IMRIS to a more than doubling of revenue in its first quarter. But the company's net loss remained unchanged from a year ago.
For the period (end-March 31), IMRIS had revenues of $8.1 million, up 131% from the $3.5 million posted a year ago. The company had a net loss of $8.4 million in the most recent quarter, compared with a net loss of $8.4 million in the first quarter of 2012.
Looking ahead, IMRIS said it expects that 2013 will be another year of improved order bookings, with the strongest performance coming from the U.S. and Asia-Pacific markets. Annual revenues are estimated to be approximately $65 million.
