Image-guided therapy developer IMRIS has opened the first Visius surgical suite in Canada.
The surgical suite features intraoperative MRI and an interventional biplane angiography system, IMRIS said. The first unit was installed in a three-room suite at Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg.
The MRI scanner is mounted on ceiling rails, which allows transitions between MRI and surgery or intervention without the need to transport patients between modalities.
