Image-guided therapy developer IMRIS has appointed Dr. Vipul Patel to its Symbis surgical system advisory board.
Patel, who has performed more than 6,000 robotic prostatectomies, is the medical director of the Global Robotics Institute and the urologic oncology program for the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute. The advisory board provides guidance on clinical studies and surgeon training for the work-in-progress Symbis unit, a surgical robot designed to be used in MRI suites.
