Increased revenue from its Visius surgical theaters helped image-guided therapy developer IMRIS post gains in its third quarter (end-September 30).
Third-quarter sales increased 54% to $17.8 million, compared with $11.6 million in the third quarter of 2012. The firm's net loss improved to $3.8 million, compared with a net loss of $8.5 million in last year's third quarter.
The company said it has new order bookings of $14.5 million, resulting in an ending backlog of $101.4 million in the third quarter.
For the nine-month period, sales advanced 11% to $35 million, compared with $32.3 million in the same period of 2012. IMRIS' net loss decreased to $20.1 million, compared with a net loss of $21.1 million in the same period a year ago.
