Sony said it is preparing to introduce the next generation of its Nucleus surgical imaging platform for operating rooms and laboratories.
The new release, which is pending U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance, adds support for multiple formats and standards, as well as 4K resolution, according to the vendor. Other new features include enhanced streaming and recording of audio and video, in addition to improved image routing and viewing options.
Sony said it has also incorporated real-time communication tools such as smarter annotation features to improve the platform's education and teaching broadcasting capabilities.
