Medical technology company Xenco Medical has launched HoloMedX, a glasses-free holographic surgical simulation platform, at the 2021 VR/AR Global Summit.
HoloMedX is an educational tool for nondiagnostic use that allows users to simulate an entire spine surgery in holographic space without the need for any headgear or glasses. The simulation platform translates DICOM data such as CT and MRI scans into detailed, interactive holographic reconstructions, according to the company.
The system provides surgeons the ability to educate patients by simulating surgery in front of them, while offering patients an immersive experience to explore their own anatomy in holographic space, the company said.
