Siemens hooks up with Xilinx

Multimodality vendor Siemens Medical Solutions has selected software logic developer Xilinx of San Jose, CA, to provide its field-programmable gate array (FPGA) for the development of the company's next-generation 3D image processing platform.

The Malvern, PA-based Siemens said it also plans to offer the technology as an imaging development platform to third-party vendors in the medical imaging industry.
