Digital x-ray device developer AFP Imaging of Elmsford, NY, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Quantitative Radiology (QR) of Verona, Italy, a supplier of the NewTom 3G, a 3D dental CT device.
QR also has internally developed and owns its proprietary, image reconstruction algorithms and software. AFP is the exclusive scanner distributor in North and South America (excluding Brazil) for Quantitative Radiology.
AFP plans to integrate the R&D and manufacturing activities, as well as manage the worldwide distribution of all QR products and software. The transaction is expected to close in the next 30 to 45 days.
