Radiology informatics and advanced visualization developer Merge Healthcare will change the name of its North American direct business unit from Merge eMed to Merge Healthcare North America.
The shift follows a reorganization initiative in recent months to align the Milwaukee-based company' cost and revenue structures, reduce operational redundancies across the organization, and optimize economies of scale from the 2005 merger of Merge eFilm and eMed Technologies.
Merge Healthcare now has three business units: Merge Healthcare North America, Merge Healthcare EMEA, and Cedara Software.
