Vital Images, Toshiba ink development pact

Advanced visualization firm Vital Images of Minnetonka, MN, and Toshiba Medical Systems of Tochigi, Japan, have signed an agreement to mutually license intellectual property and jointly develop technology for Toshiba's imaging modalities.

The pact includes collaboration on further advances for both Toshiba's Aquilion One CT scanner and Vital Images' advanced visualization software products.

The companies recently extended their distribution agreement until 2013.
