Georgia hospital installs Toshiba angio upgrade

A hospital in Georgia is the first facility to receive a new angiography image processing technology from Toshiba America Medical Systems of Tustin, CA.

Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta has purchased four Infinix CF-i systems outfitted with the company's new Next Generation Advanced Image Processing (AIP) upgrade. Next Generation AIP combines with rotational digital acquisition to provide a high-resolution view of the heart in one acquisition, reducing contrast use, decreasing diagnosis time, and improving diagnostic confidence.

Toshiba introduced the feature at the 2009 American College of Cardiology (ACC) meeting for its Infinix-i series of cath labs.
