Agfa Healthcare has launched a new set of advanced imaging processing applications and 3D volume rendering tools for its Impax PACS, as well as a meaningful use dashboard for Impax Business Intelligence, at this week's RSNA 2011 meeting in Chicago.
Impax Clinical Applications 2.1 integrates advanced processing directly with Impax PACS workflow and on a single desktop, according to the company. Users can switch between applications without reloading images and have easy access to a patient's prior images for comparison studies.
A modular configuration also increases the flexibility of upgrades for applications ranging from basic maximum intensity projections to advanced PET/CT interpretation.
At the RSNA meeting, Agfa is also debuting a meaningful use dashboard for Impax Business Intelligence. The software option provides metrics on imaging processes and workflow, and uses dashboards to capture and illustrate health data and potential clinical outcomes as defined by meaningful use requirements, according to the company.
The indicators can be customized for specific facilities, with green, yellow, and red bars that notify the user on where they stand toward achieving compliance in the following areas:
- Demographic collection on 50% of all unique patients with individual monitoring on patient preferred language, gender, race, ethnicity, and date of birth
- Recording of vital signs on 50% of all unique patients with individual monitoring on patients between the ages of 2 and 20 for height, weight, blood pressure, and BMI
- Growth chart plotting for patients between the ages of 2 and 20 for both height and weight against national statistics
- Recording of smoking status on 50% of all patients older than age 13
