That's according to an article we're highlighting this week in our Healthcare IT Digital Community. The story, by staff writer Jonathan S. Batchelor, is based on a recent presentation by U.S. researchers who found that the implementation of various radiology IT technologies shortened turnaround times.
The facility installed PACS, RIS, and speech recognition systems over a three-year period starting in 2003, and measured the impact of each on the facility's radiology reporting.
Perhaps not surprisingly, each technology helped reduce report turnaround times after installation. What's more, when taken together, the researchers found a powerful net effect on turnaround times.
