Siemens buys CADVision

Siemens Medical Solutions has purchased computer-aided detection technology developer CADVision Medical Technologies.

Founded in 1994, Jerusalem, Israel-based CADVision has developed a mammography CAD system that is currently undergoing clinical validation, according to Siemens of Malvern, PA.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Siemens said it is in the process of developing CAD technologies for several imaging applications across multiple modalities, and expects the acquisition to further strengthen its CAD product portfolio.
