Strength in market demand for full-field digital mammography (FFDM) technology helped drive strong first-quarter revenue growth for computer-aided detection firm iCAD.
For the period (end-March 31), the Nashua, NH-based company reported revenue of $6.1 million, up 41% compared with the $4.4 million posted in the first quarter of 2006. iCAD had a net loss of $554,000, compared with a net loss of $1.6 million last year.
Sales from iCAD's digital products rose 76%, from $2 million to $3.5 million, while sales of film-based products rose 3%, from $1.76 million to $1.8 million.
