Computer-aided detection (CAD) developer Mercury Computer Systems of Toronto announced its fiscal first-quarter results for 2008.
For the period (end-September 30), revenues comprised of royalty income totaled approximately $88,000 (U.S.), compared to $41,000 in the first quarter of fiscal year 2007.
Professional fees accounted for revenues of $41,000 in the first quarter of 2008, down from $63,000 in the same period of 2007. Total expenses rose to $802,000 versus $682,000 in the first quarter of fiscal 2007, attributed to increased research and development in addition to sales and marketing costs, according to the company.
Unaudited statements of operations reveal a resulting net loss of $626,000, compared to $543,000 in the same quarter last year.
