Aidoc has raised $150 million in a financing round to accelerate the development of its Clinical AI Reasoning Engine (CARE) foundation model.
Introduced at RSNA 2024, CARE is a clinical-grade AI model designed to assist physicians in clinical decisions. The model was developed on millions of real-world cases and multimodal data, including imaging scans, electronic health records, and lab reports, and it can be quickly trained for new indications, the company said. Aidoc is transitioning all of its AI algorithms to CARE, and within three years, CARE is expected to expand and cover 90% of clinically relevant diseases, including cancer and cardiovascular conditions, according to the vendor.
The round was led by General Catalyst and Square Peg, with participation from NVentures (NVIDIA's venture capital arm) and four major U.S. health systems, including Hartford HealthCare, Mercy, Sutter Health, and WellSpan Health.
