NEC will show off additions to its MultiSync line at McCormick Place.
LCD2180WG-LED features NEC's SpectraViewII color calibration software, a wide color gamut, and a variable whitepoint system backlight that maintains luminance when whitepoint is adjusted, according to the Itasca, IL-based firm. It also includes an internal circuitry that automatically converts computer data for smooth color tones, and built-in color feedback that stabilizes target color in one minute when powered.
Another feature, ColorComp, improves color and luminance uniformity, and 10-bit internal lookup tables (LUTs) allow for a palette of more than 1 billion colors. The display is suitable for MRI, CT, digital x-ray, and PACS, according to the vendor.
NEC will also preview three works-in-progress models: LCD1990SXi, LCD2090SXi, and LCD2190UXi. The units feature an ultrathin bezel for easier deployment of multiple screens, a high-end IPS panel, 12-bit LUT, an improved DDC/CI for easier troubleshooting, and an Eco-Mode for power conservation and longer product life.
SpectraViewII color calibration software is included in the three models, which NEC expects to release in the first quarter of 2006.
