Cerner makes sale to Arkansas hospital

Healthcare information systems provider Cerner said that Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, AR, has selected the company to unify the facility's clinical, laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, and surgery departments through the use of electronic health records.

The company will use its Cerner Millennium software to give more than 1,500 physicians, nurses, and clinicians access to patient information from any place at any time, according to the Kansas City, MO-based firm.

The deal was signed in the fourth quarter of 2004, with implementation of the project spanning more than three years. The first phase will begin in August 2005, and the project will reach full capability in 2008, the company said.
