Siemens Medical Solutions of Malvern, PA, is unveiling its Soarian Disease Management healthcare information technology (IT) system at this week's American College of Cardiology (ACC) meeting in Orlando, FL.
Soarian Disease Management links payers, providers, and patients with chronic diseases, such as heart disease, through communication technology, then helps providers manage and monitor patients through the application of guidelines and protocols. Data can be exchanged with other healthcare IT systems, including labs and pharmacies. Remote patient monitoring is available via biometric, interactive voice recognition, or handheld devices.
Siemens currently has several beta installations, and expects to make Soarian Disease Management generally available by mid-2005.
