Pointsec nets U.S. Army mobile encryption contract

Enterprise security software developer Pointsec of Mokena, IL, reported that it will provide endpoint security technology for the U.S. Army's Medical Communications for Combat Casualty Care (MC4) initiative.

The MC4 deployment links healthcare providers, medical diagnostic systems, information command and control, and medical command and control systems.

MC4 will work with Insight Public Sector of Bloomingdale, IL, a provider of IT products, to deploy more than 11,000 Microsoft Windows Mobile-based Hewlett Packard Pocket PC handheld devices with Pointsec encryption technology to its medical staff.

These devices will be used by Army medical professionals all over the world, including combat zones in Iraq and Afghanistan, Pointsec said.
