MedQuist launches next iteration of SpeechQ for Radiology

Speech recognition provider MedQuist has released version 1.1 of its SpeechQ for Radiology software application.

The product upgrade features enhanced command-and-control options to provide users with additional voice commands to navigate through the application. Enhanced auto-text allows physicians to sort personal and system-wide auto-text macros and templates on the basis of user preferences and grouping, according to the Mount Laurel, NJ-based MedQuist.

An alternative-words feature permits physicians, medical editors, and transcriptionists to hot-key to an alternative word list and easily select the correct word from a drop-down list. In addition, an instructions/notes voice-enabled option allows physicians to dictate instructions or notes for the editor or transcriptionists that are not speech-recognized or included in the medical report. MedQuist also updated its radiology terminology lexicon to improve accuracy.
