Healthcare information systems provider Cerner of Kansas City, MO, has signed an agreement to acquire substantially all the assets of point-of-care software developer Bridge Medical, a Solana Beach, CA-based AmerisourceBergen subsidiary.
The company said that the transaction will expand its presence in the barcoding market, an area it expects to increase as the U.S. government continues its push to bring medical information to the point of care.
