Dictaphone, the parent company of speech recognition and digital dictation firm Dictaphone Healthcare Solutions Group, has launched mdEssential, a software product that combines the firm's voice dictation, speech recognition, and natural language processing (NLP) technologies for the clinical and physician group practice market.
The application uses NLP technology to analyze the content of dictated records (including historic records), then populates patients' medical records with the data, according to Stratford, CT-based Dictaphone. In addition, caregivers can use voice-driven templates and standard text blocks to further shorten documentation time, Dictaphone said.
