SourceOne launches mobile connectivity

Healthcare products distributor SourceOne Healthcare Technologies is set to roll out a new mobile office engineer (MOE) program designed to automate all processes associated with providing equipment repair and maintenance services for the company's 20,000-plus service accounts.

The MOE program will equip the Mentor, OH-based company's more than 600 field-service engineers with FieldCentrix FX Mobile wireless workflow software and handheld Hewlett Packard Pocket PCs running Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 software, Source One said.

The device will enable the firm's field-service engineers to schedule service calls, access real-time parts inventory information, generate purchase orders, log service-call time, capture customer signatures, and generate and process invoices, according to the firm.
