Computer workstation firm Sun Microsystems of Santa Clara, CA, has announced a joint initiative with electronic prescribing developer InstantDx of Gaithersburg, MD, to develop a physician-based electronic health record (EHR).
The architecture of the EHR project is based on the Sun Java Integration Suite and InstantDx's OnCallData electronic prescription service, and is expected to be a Web-based point-of-care healthcare information network, according to the firms.
