The Cedara Software unit of Merge Healthcare has released a new Sun Microsystems Java-based product, MergeCom-3 Advanced Integrator's Native Java DICOM Tool Kit version 3.0.
The construction of the tool kit in native Java provides an alternative for developers who need the functionality of the MergeCom-3 Tool Kit, but prefer to utilize the Java language, according to Mississauga, Ontario-based Cedara. It is also platform-independent, so software developed using the tool kit can be utilized in Linux, Sun's Solaris, or Microsoft's Windows operating systems, Cedara said.
