(Booth 6451) Crescendo Systems of Laval, Quebec, will come to RSNA 2007 with its new MD Center-XL interactive speech recognition module for clinical notes.
The module allows physicians to process clinical notes in real-time through customized templates, macros, drop-down menus, check boxes, voice commands, front-end speech recognition, and electronic signature in one application.
Upon selecting a patient, the system loads the clinical notes template with bookmarks, such as exam time, medication, length of stay, allergies, and diagnostics, to guide the physician during the dictation process. The physician can navigate from one bookmark to another using voice commands, such as "go to next bookmark" or "go to medication bookmark." Text is presented on-screen, as the physician dictates.
Crescendo's front-end speech recognition system is powered by SpeechMagic from Philips Speech Recognition Systems of Vienna, Austria.
The new module also supports HL7 ADT integration to automate the import of patient demographics into the report. Once the report is complete, the physician signs off within the same application. Automatic and predefined distribution occurs after the report has been signed off.
The new clinical notes module, which became available worldwide in October, interfaces with major PACS and RIS software and supports thin-client infrastructures (Citrix Presentation Server 3.5 and later versions) and terminals, such as Wyse Windows Terminals.
