Healthcare IT firm McKesson of Atlanta has signed an agreement with an Akron, OH-based health system for its electronic health record (EHR) and practice management system.
Akron General Health System has purchased McKesson's Practice Partner, which includes clinical and EHR software, as well as business management and revenue management tools. Once installed, the system, paired with McKesson's RelayHealth connectivity platform, will allow physicians to electronically document patient care, submit prescriptions, and receive laboratory results.
The upgrade will also give Akron General Health System access to McKesson's Horizon Clinicals inpatient suite package, according to McKesson.
