Speech recognition and transcription technology provider MedQuist of Mount Laurel, NJ, is collaborating with RIS firm Epic Systems of Verona, WI, to integrate dictation technology within the template-based clinical documentation process.
The combined product is designed to help physicians complete an electronic health record (EHR) without changing documentation workflow.
Gundersen Lutheran Health System in La Crosse, WI, and the University of Kansas Cancer Center in Kansas City currently are using the technology to encourage physician adoption of EHR and reduce costs and time spent on documentation.
