The U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has awarded Northrop Grumman of Los Angeles a contract to develop a national repository database to record electronic health record incentive payment processing transactions.
Northrop Grumman will design, develop, implement, and maintain the data repository that supports the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) incentive payment disbursements of Medicare and Medicaid programs to medical professionals, hospitals, and other organizations. Companion Data Services of Columbia, SC, and InnovTech of Ashburn, VA, will partner with Northrop Grumman on the contract.
The contract is valued at approximately $34 million over one year, with five and one-half year option periods, according to the company.
