PACS software developer DR Systems will unveil its MU Imaging EHR software at the upcoming 2011 RSNA meeting in Chicago.
MU Imaging EHR is a cloud-based, imaging-centric ambulatory electronic health record (EHR), according to the vendor. It's designed to qualify radiologists for the maximum incentive payments available for meaningful use compliance under the U.S. IT stimulus program, DR Systems said.
MU Imaging EHR can be employed as a standalone system or as a Web-service plug-in to any existing HIS, RIS, cardiovascular information system (CVIS), or PACS, the company said. The firm also pointed to its cloud-based design, which allows radiologists working at multiple locations to aggregate their data.
In addition, MU Imaging EHR is customized for a medical imaging professional's workflow and does not require aggregation from other certified modules, DR Systems said. And because it's cloud-based and does not require dedicated hardware, it's suitable for both individuals and large group practices, according to the firm.
DR Systems said it anticipates receiving meaningful use certification for the software in the fourth quarter, with general availability expected in the first quarter of 2012.
