Speech recognition and software developer Nuance Communications has added support for the Digital Speech Standard audio format to its Dragon NaturallySpeaking speech recognition software.
Voice files recorded in the Digital Speech Standard (.dss) format or Digital Speech Standard Pro (.ds2) format can now be transcribed directly by Dragon (Premium editions and higher) without prior conversion to another voice file format, according to the International Voice Association.
The Digital Speech Standard audio format was jointly developed by Grundig, Olympus, and Philips.
