PACS developer Sectra plans to introduce Sectra RIS version 7.0 at the upcoming RSNA 2011 conference.
Version 7.0 includes new features to support meaningful use objectives for radiology providers in the U.S., the company said.
Some of the new features include a referring physician portal that offers computerized physician order entry, a patient portal that provides email notification when clinical results are ready, and a lab test tracking workflow that allows ordering and tracking of exam-specific lab tests, according to Sectra.
Sectra RIS version 7.0 will be certified as an ambulatory and inpatient electronic health record (EHR) module in the first quarter of 2012, and it will be released in the second quarter, the company said.
