Radiologists are concerned about the new meaningful use reporting requirements, according to the results of a survey by RSNA and research firm KLAS.
Nearly 40% of 216 radiologists surveyed cited concerns about either the lack of clarity in the meaningful use guidelines or decreased efficiency from adopting current guidelines.
The results, announced at this week's RSNA 2011 meeting in Chicago, were drawn from a RSNA-KLAS study cataloging radiologist opinions about impending meaningful use requirements linked to Medicare reimbursement.
The survey found that 60% of radiologists either plan or are considering qualifying for meaningful use. One of every four radiologists say they are very involved in making decisions about their practice's involvement in meaningful use, but only 6% consider themselves educated about it. In addition, 25% of respondents believe their RIS and PACS vendors are not prepared to help them meet the requirements.
