The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has completed its first round of accreditations for certification bodies, which can apply to the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for authorization to certify electronic health record (EHR) technologies in the ONC Permanent Certification Program. Five certification bodies were accredited.
The National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP), the accreditation body for test labs in the Permanent Certification Program, has also completed its first round of accreditations. Five test labs were accredited.
