Information technology software testing and certification firm Drummond Group has published a guide for electronic health record (EHR) developers about the meaningful use 2014 testing criteria required by the U.S. Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC).
The decision guide for the 2014 edition is meant to reduce the complexity of the decision-making process to meet stage 2 meaningful use requirements, and to clarify the differences between the 2011 and 2014 editions, according to the company.
The guide includes a framework document that helps developers focus on specific 2014 criteria, clinical quality measures, and testing options that will help support customers. It explains an optional wave testing approach designed to help vendors incrementally test for various certification criteria in phases rather than all at once. A self-assessment tool designed to gauge testing readiness is also included.
