Siemens Healthcare has expanded its MobileMD health information exchange (HIE) technology to include a health information service provider (HISP) product to enable secure electronic collaboration among providers and patients.
The technology can help streamline transitions between different healthcare settings by enabling fast and secure communication of healthcare information, Siemens said.
The software uses standards for authenticated, encrypted data that were defined by the Direct Project, and messages can be delivered by the MobileMD clinical portal, MobileMD patient portal, or third-party products that comply with project standards.
